This week marked an important moment for the EXTENDED project as partners gathered in Brussels for the final General Assembly on 15 October 2026, followed by the project’s final event on 16 October 2026. After years of collaboration, innovation, and dedicated effort, the consortium came together one last time to reflect on the journey, celebrate the achievements, and discuss the path forward for the project’s results.
Throughout the project, EXTENDED has generated a broad portfolio of technical, scientific, and exploitation outcomes that contribute to the advancement of next-generation semi-solid-state battery technologies. The project successfully brought together expertise from across Europe, resulting in innovative developments in battery systems, battery management, simulation and design tools, sustainability approaches, testing methodologies, and manufacturing concepts.

As exploitation leader, TechConcepts had the privilege of supporting the consortium in identifying, developing, and shaping the project’s Key Exploitable Results (KERs). Through a series of exploitation workshops, stakeholder analyses, business model development activities, and roadmap discussions, we worked together to transform technical innovations into concrete pathways towards future impact. It has been inspiring to see how project results evolved from early concepts into tangible opportunities for commercial, scientific, societal, and policy exploitation.
Beyond the technical achievements, what stands out most is the spirit of collaboration that characterised the project. The willingness of partners to share knowledge, support one another, and work towards common goals created a highly constructive and enjoyable environment throughout the project.
We would therefore like to sincerely thank all consortium partners for their trust, commitment, and pleasant cooperation over the past years. Delivering a successful Horizon Europe project is always a collective achievement, and the results of EXTENDED are a testament to the expertise and dedication present across the consortium.
A special word of appreciation goes to Bruno Rodrigues, Catarina Carneiro, and Barbara Rocha. Their coordination efforts, commitment, and continuous support played a vital role in the success of the project. Whether organising activities, facilitating collaboration, communicating with partners, or simply providing encouragement when needed, they consistently went the extra mile to keep the consortium engaged, motivated, and moving forward. Their positive energy, professionalism, and dedication have been greatly appreciated by all involved.
While the project itself is coming to an end, the work does not stop here. Many of the technologies, tools, and partnerships established within EXTENDED will continue to evolve through exploitation activities, follow-up initiatives, and future collaborations. We look forward to seeing these results create lasting impact in the years ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
Congratulations to the entire EXTENDED consortium on a successful project completion.
